When was INCM created?

The governemnt owned compnay known as Imprensa Nacional-Casa da Moeda, E.P. (Portuguese Mint and Official Printing Office) was created by Decree-Law no. 225/72 of 4 July. It was transformed into a limited company with exclusively government owned capital by Decree-Law no. 170/99 of 19 May, and became known as Imprensa Nacional-Casa da Moeda, SA, abbreviated to INCM, SA

What are INCM's main activities?

The INCM's main activities are the production of goods and the provision of services that are fundamental to the functioning of the Portuguese State. These include minting metallic coins and publishing official publications, such as Diário da República (Official Journal). The INCM also produces security documents, authenticates objects made of precious metals and publishes essential works related to Portuguese and universal culture.

What are INCM's opening hours?

The INCM is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The stores in Lisbon are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The store in Coimbra is open from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The Porto store is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

It is a store where you can use various catalogues to find products and purchase them online.

At INCM's Online Shop, you can find books, coins, medals, artistic objects, printed forms and official publications.

How can I order a product?

To order a product, select the one you want from the product catalogue and put it into your shopping cart.

How is my order delivered?

Your order is delivered by CTT (Portuguese mail services) or by another similar transportation company.

How can I pay for my order?

Orders can be paid for by Multibanco (ATM), credit card, Payshop or on delivery.

How are returns dealt with?

The delivery of products acquired using this service is governed by the legal regulations that apply to distance trading in Portugal.

How can I get the customer card?

To request this card, customers fill in an application form that is available online or at INCM's stores. After the request is validated, the card number is assigned automatically and is provided immediately by email or by letter. The card is issued later and is either held at the store or sent to the customer's address.

What are the advantages of the customer card?

The card can be used for purchasing all of INCM's products in the Stores, by mail delivery and at INCM's Online Shop, with the exception of the publication of announcements in the Official Journal, subscriptions, or coins exchanged at face value. The card holder will receive vouchers worth 18.75 Euros for every 375 Euros, without sales tax, that they spend within the space of under one year. They can take advantage of deferred payment plans. As well as these discounts and special payment conditions, cardholders can also take advantage of promotions that are specifically designed for them, and they are given advance warning by email about when INCM products are put on sale.

How can I visit INCM?

INCM holds guided visits by prior appointment requested in writing. There is a program of guided tours of the coin production process for schools, which are also by prior appointment.
