INCM hosts a plenary session of the "Businesses for Equality" Forum

July 16, 2013

Today, the INCM played host to the 5th plenary session of the "Businesses for Equality" Forum, held in the Noble Hall at the Casa da Moeda, during which there was a debate and the status of measures that are being implemented by member companies to promote gender equality in the workplace was monitored.

The session began with a speech by Maria Luísa Pacheco, member of the INCM’s Board of Directors, followed by the presentation of the Yammer platform, which will allow information to be shared between Forum members, and the presentation of the good practices that have already been implemented in this area in three companies (Portugal Telecom, Banco Santander and Nestlé).

The "Businesses for Equality" Forum is a joint initiative by several public and private companies, including the INCM, who are taking on the commitment of implementing a set of measures to improve gender equality policies, under the auspices of the Commission for Equality in the Workplace and Employment (CITE in Portuguese).

The measures regard the mission and values, and seek to integrate gender equality into corporate policies at the staff recruitment and selection level; into training, wages and career management; into social dialogue; into information, communication and image; into the conciliation and protection of parenthood.
