Delivery of the Imprensa Nacional/Ferreira de Castro Award to the winners of the 1st edition

This Friday, February 21, at 6 pm, the ceremony for the delivery of the Imprensa Nacional/Ferreira de Castro Award will take place at the Ferreira de Castro Municipal Library, in Oliveira de Azeméis, and will be attended by the Secretary of State for Portuguese Communities, Berta Nunes.

The winners ex aequo of this first edition are the Portuguese descendant Marcus Vinicius Quiroga, residing in Brazil, with the work Não viajarei por nenhuma Espanha, and Irene Marques, Portuguese resident in Canada, author of Uma casa no Mundo.

In addition to a monetary prize in the amount of five thousand euros, the Imprensa Nacional/Ferreira de Castro Award also contemplates the publication of the winning works by the Imprensa Nacional.

This award, the result of a partnership between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Imprensa Nacional-Casa da Moeda (INCM), aims to honor the essential figure of the writer Ferreira de Castro and reinforce the ties of belonging to the Portuguese language and culture of Portuguese citizens living abroad and Portuguese descendants.
