Results of the INCM improve 14% in 2015
May 4, 2016
In 2015, the INCM achieved net income from taxes to the value of 20 million Euros, up 14.3% on the previous year.
The turnover recorded in the previous year was 91.2 million Euros, of which 83.2 million correspond to current activity. Overall, the increase in sales in 2015 was 11%, having also recorded in current activity, a significant increase of 5.9%.
INCM experienced in 2015 an improvement of 11.5% in gross margin generated, indicative of increased efficiency and competitiveness achieved in current activity associated with the industrial process and production support.
Areas of Coins, Graphics and Publications experienced improvements in margins delivered, the first two representing, respectively, 80% and 17% of the overall gross margin generated by INCM in 2015. The increased sales achieved by the Assay Office were not enough to cover the costs, recording a significant negative outcome, due to the fact that the fees charged are not sufficient to offset the costs of this activity, operated in the public service.
This positive performance of INCM is achieved as a result of management strategy oriented to innovation and to improve planning processes, management and control, favouring the use of own capital and reducing risk in order to improve market competitiveness and appropriately reward shareholders. It should be noted that these results were achieved in compliance with all the measures imposed in the State Budget Law of 2015, for the operating expenses of public enterprises.
